Philadelphia: Hoagie Fest 2009
Friday, July 10th, 2009
Philadelphia’s been very good to us. We got to play with Religious Girls again and finally saw Our Brother The Native live. The Danger Danger Gallery was a wild place to play. It proved to be our hardest load in. It was essentially the basement of a row house. Total cave vibes. After the show we went to Wawa for hoagie fest. We were rolling 17 deep, tribal style. We stayed at this place called “Big Momma’s Warehouse.” It was easily the coolest warehouse we’ve seen, and there have been many. I think 11 people were living there, and the 17 of us easily fit in the living room alone.

New York City did not disappoint. It is pretty amazing. I have never been in such a densely packed area before. We got to Brooklyn and unloaded all our gear. I went on a journey to get my bike repaired. After getting it repaired I experienced the greatest ride of tour so far. While San Francisco may be the most challenging city to ride physically, New York is the most dynamic and mentally challenging by far. I caught up with everyone else in Times Square and we rode the Subway back to the venue. We played a pretty good show and hopefully will return to play with Aa someday. We left New York and stayed at Paul’s Uncle’s House’s Basement’s Floor in New Jersey. Wish we could have stayed longer. So many things to climb there.
